Sapphire Radeon 9600 here and it runs daoc very nicely, breeze to install and very stable

I have a geeforce 4 ti4200 already, but I suspect it to be defect in some way.. Recently upgraded my comp to a p4 2.8 with 1024 ram. Although I still experience lag spikes both in and out of game.

P4 2.6ghz, 1gig ram and Herc 9800 pro gives me 75fps most of the time and allows me to run fine with /effects all in relic raids :)

I'd say buy a GeForce Card...

DAoC seems to have big troubles with Radeon, atleast mine :(
cause daoc runs smoother with my old GeForce3ti200 64mb than with my Connect3dRadeon9600XT 128mb

radeon 9800 pro does the trick :)

but u could always go for an average guard and a gig or so of memory, that would do fine

hmm i think it's a GeForce 4 TI 4800 SE there's in this comp, but i'm not sure, will ask BF when he comes home, seeing it's his old GFXcard.
i'm a hardware n00b :(

Right now I'd wait a few months for the new direct X9 cards to come out ( don't think any are out yet - although I haven't been keeping up to date.) If you really must buy a card now pretty much anything with 128Mb+ with do perfectly, some people report problems with non GeForce cards. At the end of the day both types are probably as bad as each other =D

I'm running an old Gainward GF4 Ti4200 golden sample. Never had any problems.

you can't go wrong with the radeon9800xt.. just install the newest catalyst drivers and you won't have a single hitch with daoc.
