hi. i have been having some serius problems with daoc latly.

when i log in it usally no problems but after a little while (30mins or so depends on if im lucky or not) i start to get grafic bugs almost like some static disruptions or something and color changes and after a while it starts to draw lines from bridges, towers, keeps and players can get like a line/wall attached to the wall/arm etc and i cant see a thing.
and a few times it just breaks down and there is no vision at all and when i /quit daoc its still there but more like if you are holding a phone close to the screen when its ringing.

i have tried to reinstall the game (not the pc, have a few things i cant remove atm) and tried dif screen settings, opened the pc to see if it something in there that shouldnt be but cant find anything.
and its only happening in daoc.

please help me i want to get back to normal gaming  :D :flame:

Does this work in other games?

If you get triangles, lines cutting along your screen or sparkles that's an indication usually of card overheating or ram being faulty on the card.If this does happen in other games perhaps try cleaning the fan on the gfx card but do it carefully, if this doesn't work you may have to replace it.

Getting those things on your screen i said above isn't a good sign at all really, sorry but hope it's just some kind of overheating causing it.Wiring inside the case can also make your airflow very bad, perhaps tidy the case up maybe too.(if you do this, make sure NO loose wires touch the motherboard)

Seems to me like GPU overheating... especialy considering it takes some time to appear and then symptomes get worse. Faulty ram should be visible alot faster - with weirdo coloured texels (ugly light green, pink and similar nasty colours; texel = pixel in 3D)...

Check temperature of your GFX, check if passive cooler is not full of dust and active one is working. Also check you have some space under your gfx card so you just don't blow the warmed air into the other card and reverting it back to gfx one.

If you have your gfx card overclocked, reduce both memory and gpu speed by 10 MHz, should be enough.

I agree its almost definately caused by overheating, as the problems take a while to set in.

What is your card? If its a nVidia you can use their tool (right click on desktop etc..) to view the temperatures. Speedfan is a more useful tool, and should work with ATI cards too. Post back here what the temperatures are, including case temp. Also note its best to use the graph and readback the peak values, as cooling can occur very quickly once you minimise the program, so you won't get a true indication by reading current values.

Try reinstalling the game, i had a strange problem like this a while ago, stuff would go strange after a set time, i thought it was overheating, but it wasnt, i just reinstalled the game, and it was ok.

I had sameprob a while back on 2 diff gfx cards.

Problem = Gfx drivers & VIA (4in1) Drivers

I d/loaded latest drivers for my cards then installed them, then i installed the ltest version of the VIA 4in1 drivers & then i re-installed DX9 ....fixed my prob ;)

g/luck :)
