From the latest grab bag...

"Q: Design question – The Shadowblade is a dex class just like the Savage... so why isn’t the Shadowblade’s damage dex based?

A: The Oracle (a fellow who manages much of the behind-the-scenes data, and has been here since the dawn of time) responds: ”The short answer: Because the weapon specializations the Shadowblade receive (primarily axe and left axe) only require strength.

So in summary:
Q: Shadowblades are a dex class, why don't they have dex based damage?

A: Because they have str weapons.

huh!?

um Infis are Dex characters but none of there weapons are 100% Dex, same for NS.

IMHO i think SB should be given the option to spec 'Dagger' to give them a thrust option.

They are the only Assassin class able to use 2-handed weapons, and Mid as a realm can use 2-handed weapons (not counting staffs) from L1.

Anyway i think a bigger question is why is Friers weapon based on 100% on Dex yet there dex never raises?

Staves used to be str I beleive, but were changed to dex. And mythic have stated they can't change which stats raise with levels. Could be worse, bards get empathy with levels, a stat that does absolutely nothing whatsoever for them.

Tbh being an asassin is all about stealth and evading, yer weapon technically comes second place (altho you wouldn't say so) and since evade and most evasive skills are dex based it's a dex class.
But indeed, giving each realm at least the chance to spec some sort of thrust variant for their asassin class would be nice, or make it so that asassins use weapons different, with more finesse and therefore can use a str based weapon (apart from 2h) as if it was a thrust weapon for calc dmg and ws.

Dont forget SB (higher Realm Rank atleast) get slight boost over infils in NF due to 2x RA changes

1) Duelist Reflects has been removed so infils (and Merc's) can't boost the chances of an offhand hit.

2) Mastry of pain now gives upto a 49% chance of crit hits. (which is alot nicer if you dual swing every time rather then 50-60% of the time.

i'm sure if mythic really wanted to they could change the stats which increase as you level. Fact is they never like to admit they are 1) wrong and 2) don't totally understand there own game

Jupp, they do not have a clue about their own game and that goes to some of the Team Leaders as well :m00:

It was a design error from mythic and to make up for it they gave the friar a self dex/quick buff on line with spec buffs :) Makes em sick solo but hurts em badly when fighting against another buffed person.

Total crap, since Duelist Reflexes gives the same bonus to SB's that it does to infils, meaning they are both at loss with this RA removed.

And regarding crits and MoP, again crap, since Crits are linear, although the SB will crit more often the Infil will crit for more when he does, serving to balance out.

Yet more crap, Warriors of late tend to be of the defensive kind, does this mean they should be a dex based class because Shield is more important? No. Poor anology but its all a poor conclusion desereves.

Chanters, Mentys, Elds, Wizzys, Sorcs, Theurgs, Cabbys, Runeys, SM's, BD's all have quickness as a teritary stat afaik.

Am unsure about Necros and Animsts though
