99p? What is up with those greedy ppl that keep farming this arti?

I am a casual player, how am I ever gonna be able to afford it? Tried getting it since March this year but no luck. Its so sad to see this kind of greed. Just makes me wanna puke.

Bah!

Perhaps try getting it yourself the old-fashioned way instead of trying to buy it?

Since march I've done it at least 3 times and only once did I camp it (sort of, was lvling Jacnia's on cyclops). And no, that wasnt in off peak times but on saturdays or during a weekday in the evening. I am a casual player myself, I work during the day and really cba to get up earlier for a game.

AFAIK the 99p GoV is on the market explorer for rather long now, might be the owner just stored it on his CM and aint really willing ro sell it but would for such a high price ... who knows.

All this "albion greed blahblah" makes me wanna puke btw - its not like its hard to get cash these days. Specially since you get gold for killing in RvR since NF.

they ususally go for 35p and thats not much for a casual player, i earned about 100p+ with a cleric solo, if that isnt casual nothing is. Plats are to easy to get so QQ about it is just stupid.

Of course it's greed. If you didn't want to sell it, then surely you wouldn't set a price at all?

If you have a limited edition car, and you decide to sell it, are you going to put it on at the highest price you will get for it?

Probably.

You're either:

(a) Lying
(b) Have found a bug that delivers insta-plats
(c) Farmering 24/7 (solo? With a cleric?)
(d) Buying plats off eBay.

Which is it?

none of em, as mention earlier, plats are so easy to get and whingíng about it just make u look dumb
maybe you should try getting plats before whining

an example of farming: melos bladewarriors, blue con, can take 3-4 a time with foh/fop, drops arbiter papers 3of3 that usually sell for 2-4 p. Best farm session 4 in a hour, worst 1 in 2 hours, average around 6plats a hour.

Or just join a dv-raid and get 15p a hour

If that is not much dunno wtf I have done wrong. Got 19plat to my name after 3 years, and 14 of that has come from RvR post-NF.

Guess I am just not a greedy bastard and should start selling stuff instead of giving it away to people who need.

i manage to gather:

around 600 gp in one evening off plain farming (4 hours straight), scorcher with buffbot. Not exploiting spots nor abusing other players with selling crap and metals. This without the salvage and trinketting, pure cash gained from selling loot and picked-up gold.

i personally think that, ppl that don't find this ammount off cash a lot off money, are ppl that are in the race of having a CM, selling, re-selling stuff they gathered on cm's or ,luckely, farmed on a raid also at rediculous prices..

read carefully: i do not farm stuff and sell them...as in seal farming and selling them to a trinketter. I farm things without interfearence off other ppl.
And that is the way you have to look at it imo.

on my scout for exemple.. pure xp'ing arties i was able to gather around 200 gp in this way...in the same time period.

on my necromancer i have about the same output as on my sorc.

maybee ppl will start to agree with me that the "leet" are really pushing the limits, but just are to blind or to fortunate or to stubborn and blind to understand.

oh stfu. If you havent got the brains or the energy to farm cash, thats your fault, no one elses. So if you go into a shop and see a lacoste shirt for sale for £130 do you go into one of your frenzies about how its over priced to the shop assistant. DO you know why lacoste shirts selll for £130? BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL BUY IT thats why. JUst like daoc, prices are set high as people can afford them. If you dont like it, tough shit.

you know marc, you become more and more like the twats you despise every day, maybe realm rank does lower IQ afterall.

Anyway, it happened in Mid when they had DF all the time, prices went through the roof because there was so much extra raw money being put into the ecomomy, from seal farmers, nothing anyone can really do about it except find their way of making money, to buy the expensive items.

Marc's point is 100% valid. Scrolls/artifacts and drops are there to farm, to increase the level of the economy and create a more realistic financial world. If you can't cope with high prices, you need to join the 21st Century.

And btw, didn't you quit?

see if you can spot the clue, i am sure if you stare at it long enough you will see it.

If people only farm scrolls then that wont increase the economy, it will just make the price of scrolls cheaper, people still need raw cash from DF or high yield metal drop mobs for the realm to have money to buy the rare and expensive items, it happened to midgard and now its happening to Albion. Items are pretty cheap on the whole in Hib because we can farm items with animists but as we rarely have DF there isnt all that much new money coming in.

Seals>metal>hinges>gold>scrolls/items If you pick one of them to tap then you wont ever be short of money, if you dont do any of them, you wont be able to afford anything.

Marchegiani's post might be valid, but it still misses Ironheart's point (I think). The interesting observation to make is, in my opinion, that the only real sources of income in this game are gold and loot drops from mobs (and lately, gold from RvR kills). In that sense, ToA scrolls and artifacts have zero intrinsic value (well, I guess you can salvage a non-jewelry artifact). I would still claim that scroll farming and not gold farming is the most lucrative business for a casual player (actually, most of the time you can do both). "Powergamers", who do have the time to RvR and PvE a lot (i.e. get lots of money drops) and salvage/trinket, are the ones that increase the total gold pool in the game, and will then use their fortune to acquire things they need. Selling scrolls is a good way to redistribute all this money.
