Just an idea for a bit of fun and some dosh, How about holding a little competition to find Albions most strongest character?

Every time i bind/port from goth harbour, there is always people duelling, I always take a little time to watch who is fighting who, as I pick up tips about the different classes etc.

I would like to see who is albs strongets character, and I am prepared to put up some gold for the entrance.

Without it all going too technical, would be good to have several nights and playoffs?

What do you lot think... say the purse for the overall winner was like 10 plat .

anyone remotely interested In helping to organise? Liste/ Laird someone who has organised auctions or another event before would be good!

I'm with Liste on this one, all other classes which go up against Paladins are more than likely to lose, same with Friars. Might be better having the strongest class duels in my opinion, make it a little fairer.

a pally fight can take that long, even without active RA´s

had it the other night in Goth with my pally, fight lasted for some 25-30 minutes before other guy suggested we called it even

funny part was you cast self buff before fight,.... after 15 minutes you just HAVE to get a slam in so you can recast it

A paladin is essentially unbeatable as they can just sit there and engage while twisting to regen hp. So maybe make it paladins only and set aside, say 4 weeks per match and we'll have a winner in a year or two.

Necro's beat paladins hands down even with FH and IP, so thats not the problem but a well spec'd friar or merc would beat a necro to a pulp.

I think the point remains that all classes are unique, the only way to run a propper dueling costest would be people with the same class and spec and equipment then let how they play the character decide who wins.

^^ agreed, I duelled a guildy (50 thuergist) with my Pally (also 50), started at range didnt get 10 feet, got spammed with air pets then with earth pets. Needless to say I didnt win.

As far as Pallies duelling tanks goes, engaging is just sooooo boring, cant even be called a duel if some1 engages u imo.

It wouldn't mean anything. What about 2 same spec fire wizard for example, 1 resist bolt, other not. So one of them has more skill?

caster v caster has alot of skill- who times there quickcast best

Talking about the following situation: 2 wizards cast the same bolt/dd/whatever, one of them resisted, other didn't. 1 duel wouldn't prove anything, to get rid of randomiser should do at least 10.

again after reading the above posts, I would assume its the Best player with the best character, that would win! a good recipe for a good competition.
perhaps run a class specific and if u have the skill and a good character also an anyclass vs anyclass....
