Ok so i ordered a new pc thanks to the suggestions in the other thread i posted. Decided to clean up this old one, unistalled what i could, then just went and deleted stuff i didn't like the look of, mainly from program files.
rebooted and i'm getting the error message that system.ini or the reg is referring to a couple of files that arent around. obviously from stuff that wouldnt unistall and i just delted. hit return a couple of times and it boots fine.
two files are navap.vxd from norton antivirus stuff (didnt use it, thats why i deleted) and symevnt.386 from some symantec folder (don't even know what this is).
these don't sound important files, can i just search through system.ini and the reg and delete any entries referencing these files?
