it seems that the prydwen playerbase never gets tested on gorre. its kinda bad cos we dont get to try out higher lvl spells.

will there be any point in the future when prydwen can test on gorre or perhaps another test server?

Greetings,

While we are considering a way to give everyone a chance, we are planning to follow our usual schedule for now. Gorre will be patched to German at the beginning of this week (with Avalon database) and the English version will follow the week after, using Excalibur database.

The Question:

Greetings.

With patch day coming up shortly, I was wondering about the Gorra testing facility. I am playing on Prydwen, and as suchs is only interested in the English testing period.

It occurs to me, that you always use the user database from Excalibur. Although this server has a greater population than the Prydwen server, you are still denying over one third of the english players a chance to test anything on Gorre with their main.

A fair suggestion would be, to switch the database used. If not a half time switch, then at the least a third time switch.

Forinstance, the last two patches were tested using the Excalibur server database. Now let this patch be done using Prydwen, and then the next two times Excalibur... etc, etc. :)

Afterall, we are still quite a few that has great interest in helping out testing on the Gorre server! :)

How about making it like pendagron ?
Where everyone can copy his char too ~~~dunno how that would work with languages, but sure beats sharing patches to test. Since some are way more radical <like this one we get now> then others

I was on Gorre an hour ago with my Firby hero. Was quite bizzare to have most of the content in English with the odd bit of French chucked into the system window for no apparent reason.

The new icons are brilliant though, much better than currently.

Whenever I've asked GOA techies to look at stuff because of problems I've had ingame the response has been absolutely excellent every time, however when asking about test server the response is somewhat ,er, cooler for want of a better description.

I email GOA diligently with bugs I've spotted or problems I've found and to be basically barred from helping in an effective way with the patching process is a little disheartening.

Sure Gorre is available to all players but how many people on Prydwen have lvl 50 mains on Excalibur? Not many that's for sure, so why cant the Gorre database be switched over to Prydwen for a couple of days?

When purchasing the game I was offered the choice of Excalibur or Prydwen and stupidly I chose the 'quieter' Prydwen server instead of opting for the oh so obvious 'main' server of Excalibur. It wasn't like GOA made it clear there was a difference between them.

So is the Prydwen player persecuted due to a technicality issue or is it basically bad luck on choosing the incorrect server on day one?

The simplest solution would to be allow a character copy but that's too crazy an idea for GOA to implement isn't it :rolleyes:

This isn't "sooner than expected," this is "annoyingly late". Let's hope they do better getting us to 1.53, and then to 1.54 when that goes live in America. :mad:
