Gorre Status

How feasable is it to keep gorre open with the gold and glory and all that she-bang open at all times?

Because i think that would be a fun thing to play with, so people could go there and test how their chars would be at rr6 and lvl 50.

Like how pendragon is on the us.

Hardly, as each patch needs translation to 3 languages (yes there are some differences between real English and Pig English (Yank)). It would also call for a major upgrade to the hardware it runs on, use more bandwidth, and will not be useful really for testing what really needs testing. Instead of GOA getting feedback from the E&E who test currently, they would be bombarded from all directions with bug reports and crap like we have on this forum currently, "G&G dont work", "my uberchar isnt RR6", "givf more respecs wtfpn" etc etc. Then theres the issue of 30k ppl wanting access to it and whinging when they cant, again like youre seeing on FH currently.

Pendragon is for ongoing testing, not for full patch testing. Each patch is broken down into small fixes on that server alone, so its progressive, whereas our patched tend to be one huge change effecting many things in one go. Often this will mean downtime of the server; we E&E see it for about 1 month before live, so its not up as much as ppl think.

Remeber that Gorre is about testing patches, getting them right before they go live, and not about testing toons.

lucky gits, my subs ran out for the first time since day 1 and they sudddenly dont allow new or re-activated accounts on gorre, i want in!!!
