Right, turns out that Google will be killing off Google Desktop just weeks after I've finally got my Dad used to using it on his machine, i.e. weeks after I've finally managed to silence the "I can't find this file" phone calls.

Windows built in search is awful and Copernic is just as bad.

Do you guys know any alternatives that I could try out?

Windows 7??? Never had any problems finding anything with that!!

Me either but can't justify forking out for the upgrade just for it to do something that Vista should do but is fucking abysmal at.

Ta for that link soze. Might just have to bite the bullet and put Copernic on his box, I just hate it though
