I got 74% for the exam and 71% for the whole module!!! that is the highest module so far...not bad considering @ 1st study school we were told that in this degree an excellent mark is 60+ and no one gets 70% ever

I proved them wrong a number of times but this was sweeeet! *gloats*

and I am going to be spherical tomorrow because it is chinese time tonight!!

Got 4 A's all above 90% but muffed the STEP maths exams. Looking like a year out for me.

Why?

From the fact that you are taking STEP maths exams I assume you want to do a degree in maths (or something related). Taking a year out is a bad idea in this situation as you will forget an awful lot of what you have learnt.

Of course it is a shame if you didn't get into your first choice university (especially if it was somewhere like Oxford / Cambridge) but its not the end of the world. The teaching that is available at undergraduate level is not very different between the top universities and you can always do a Masters/PhD at another university.
