Could be good for the Italians in all honesty. He's never really impressed me in an Azzuri shirt. He was anonymous in Euro 2000 apart from that penalty against Holland and did nothing in Asia in 2002 apart frm getting sent off in the South Korea match. What's more, Pirlo is an equally talented, equally creative midfielder who could amply fill Totti's role, admittedly without the tricks or the petulance. Hopefully it will also spur ADP into action aswell, I'm sure he'd love to be Italy's saviour for once. Cassano could also play there, but he didn't do much in the Denmark game, and I doubt he's effective as he is in Serie A without Totti telling him what to do. Of course it's bad news when you lose your best player, but I'm sure Italy will survive.

Apparently del piero is set to drop into Totti's role and another striker move up front.

I'd play Pirlo ahead of Totti every game.

Totti is a shit ****.

Filthy. Bad enough when a five year old brat does it. He should have been banned for the remainder of the tournament.

Top marks to the Danish player for not reacting to it.
