Goodbye Albion

Well folks, this is it.
I know albion is short of Sorcerors and what-not as it is but I don't really enjoy RvR very much anymore. The fun of the game was grouping and XPing and exploring: 20-35 was when I enjoyed the game most, now it`s a bit boaring. RvR is sluggish and jerky, casters die far too easily and it's just zergs and keep-taking.

So, in the fasion of Teador I`m going to deleet my albion character and move to Hibernia. Pannic not though, I`ll probably get to level 17 and then realise the game is actually more boaring than I realised and stop playing all together.

Spread the word to people who don't read these forums very often please.

Why dont you make an alt to use while you cant get a group?i still love the game look how many characters i got and they all doing well,that's why it's still fun for me because i use 5 characters all completely different.

Oh well if you do go,good luck in hibernia i will have one less person to torment now

I know im gona miss one of the few people who actually get along with me, and I hope that going to the Golf Course will make your game playing more rewarding, I fully understand your reasons for going, GoA (excuse me if im wrong) are doing there best to f**k up Alb chars, be it Mins, Clerics or soon to be Sorcs

Who needs Mids and Hibs to raid at the same time of morning? just give it time and were all be so gimped that ducks could take our relics

Sorry to see you go, although not completely unexpected

Whatever realm you play it will still be the same game ... RvR will still be sluggish and jerky, casters will still die far too easily (altho the Hibbie ones are much better at what they do of course than their Alb counterparts) and the Hibbies have become the new masters of the zerg force. Keep-taking is an essential element of RvR, so they have to do that too.

Hope that moving to the land of the pixies will extend your stay in the game.

Must say I'm becoming mightily cheesed off with the game -- unless in an uber guild you have to make do with a group of whoever you can find at Sauvage ... and if that doesn't contain a minstrel you're invariable dead within 10 minutes and back at your bind stone, as the zerg kills you and the unspeed buffed people --- and those with minstrels disappear onto the horizon.

Every now and again something good happens, but its becoming rarer and rarer. How people can have lots of level 50's and been playing this game for months and months since beta I really have no idea ... what keeps the flame of enjoyment alive?

Sorcs are the worst at CC'ing AND surviving, and this ain't gonna get any better in the forseeable.

Hib is boring as hell!! Studying the growth of Moss is more interesting that HIB, i spent a while there on excal and it was just sooooo boring as are most of the classes!

Will be sad to see ya go, i remember the days in Lost souls when me you Yumms and Aarnie would xp away in plains and keltoi etc We had alot of laughs, like when we used to kill those damn frogs behind broken bridge in plains Such a big loss that a good fellow scottish git is leaving especially one that used to hate liberty X just like me

As for Souls buffer, she is called Disincarnate Soz Soul bro, not good at keeping secrets lol.

Well guys... hibernia is pretty grim

The main problem is I cannot bring myself to XP more, the game is too dull. I've 100% gone off DAoC now, all I'll miss is chatting to you all
My account runs out in 3 weeks and I won't be renewing it. Untill then I may pop on as the all new Saturnine the Magess hanging around adribard's and prydwen (some of my favourite parts of the game) and saying goodbye in person to some of the people I didn't get a chance to earlier

You know, if you ask GOA, they might reinstate the old Saturnine until your account runs out. (I know that deleted characters are kept safe for a while) At least then you can group with friends until you leave for good.

Thanks Sru, though I was hoping someone with experience of all those things might have answered

Anyway the addendum to my post was very negative -- after a few very poor sessions of RvR (zerged/release x 4) I then found the person I'd known longest in DaOC was off. Since then I've had some good sessions, spoken to some new friends and cheered up a bit.

Will still be very sorry to see you go Satie. Life in DaOC will not be the same without you. I saw first hand the other day as your bodyguard just what being a sorcerer means -- having to get so close to the enemy you could sneeze on them when you get a mezz off. Utterly silly and very bad design from Mythic IMO. No wonder we have so few sorcerers.

Hope to see you before you go Satie (and not just cos you owe me that gold, honest )

Just thought I should add a few words...

Taggart ur right about the plains. They really were the best point in the game for me, making our usual l337 groups eager to kill centurions and the like. Good that we all still know each other now we are in the highest of lvls

Alas, Sat you made your decision...as a result Albion will no longer have the pleasure of enduring the quick-fire bitchy retorts that we had all become accustomed to. Nor will we have the pleasure of using /stick on one of your seemingly endless rvr tours, only to find a horde of mids over the next hill we crossed. I dont think anyone can rival the speed with which you changed your outfits, be it the en vogue red and black dye one minute, or simply revert back to your traditional forest green trousers

So you shall be missed by friends and foes alike. The full scale of the loss will no doubt hit me soon enough, and as a result will cease my playing of the game more rapidly. No more lans on a grim 56k modem whilst both trying to explore DF simultaneously

No doubt you will all still see me in the game for a while yet, but as one saga ends mine will undoubtedly follow.
