Ok i'm in a rock band looking for a good 70's - 80's sound.

I couldn't care less if it doesn't have drums, 16 track recording, midi etc.. i just need a good sound to it!!

My budget is 300quid

suggestions ???

You'll have to give slightly more of a clue as to what sort of sound you want. The largest problem being that especially with regards to the 70s the sound is half the keyboard and half the speaker which was more often than not a Leslie.

If you want a more moden 80s sound you'll need to get hold of an FM synthesis keyboard. You can probably pick up an original 80s Yamaha for about 200 second hand.

The other otion is to go for some kind of PC emulation using a midi keyboard. Obviously this will give you a lot more sounds but there's a few problems with going down the PC route.

I would suggest a Korg one but they tend to be a tad expensive but offer a good range of sounds and functions.
