Good Accoustic Songs?

I know this should probably be in the music section but i only got 2 days to prepare!

anyway im doing an open mic night, me and a mate on accoustics.

need some ideas for songs to do bearing in mind

a) i have a shit voice
b) i cant sing like a girl

gotta do 3 songs and some i've already thought of our time of your life(green day), drive(incubus), golden touch(razorlight).

suggestions welcome!

Take a good look at some Elton John songs if I were you... perhaps Daniel or Your Song would be decent choices.....

Try stuff by Nick Drake, Martin Carthy, Elliott Smith et al.

Nick Drake may be your best bet, his album Pink Moon is all acoustic (bar one piano on one song) and he's not a fantastic vocalist. You might need to be better than average on the guitar to play some of it though.

Yes! I often sing this in my head as if it were an acoustic version. It usually ends up sounding like the old Neighbours theme though. :\

Try stuff by bands like Stereophonics or even Oasis. Either that, or think of bands that have done 'unplugged' sets, and pinch some of the songs they did, 'Come as you are' by Nirvana for example.
