Lecter, I and a few other chumps are doing the London to Brighton bike ride for the british heart foundation in June. We're trying to raise a few quid on the way.

If you're feeling rich, or just charitable, perhaps sling a few quid our way.

Thanks :)

ps - its twice the distance of the pussy london marathon and theres a dirty great hill in the way as well, so for a fat bastid like myself it wont be a walk in the park!

If you weren't such a contrary **** I'd think more seriously about it. It might be twice the distance of the London marathon but they aren't exactly using bicycles are they....

:p

Gave a fair few squid to a mate who did the marathon des sables for the BHF - good cause - last month. Good luck with it.

Cheers lads, appreciated. As a wise IRC person pointed out earlier, I'm wisely donating money to the charity that will help me out if I go kaput on the ride :p

I tell you what - all the pubs along the route did a stonking trade yesterday. 30 odd thousand thirsty and hungry cyclists hooning it past. A good %age stopped at one of them. Average spend probably about a fiver a head when you factor in the BBQs the pubs were all running. Thats gotta be the busiest day of the year for them easily.

sudocrême or pro stuff like assos (aka minty arse lard). it prevents the tender regions being, em, destroyed.

awesome vid as well. must have been a huge community spirit going on :)

How much training did it take for you to do that?
I have a route that goes pretty much from my house to York, but its 64 miles and wondered how much Id need to train before I do it.

fuck all, and im a fat bastard too. By "fuck all" I mean I cycle to work every day (about 6-7 miles total daily) and at the weekends I *might* do a 15 miler to somewhere and back.

I had to get off on some of the bigger hills mind.
