Think someone tried that b4 and got the old "Read the small print, you no cancel autorenew, you get billed" kinda routine. Then something about having at least a month to cancel it....Brunore said:Phone your bank, tell them that they have taken money without your permission.
They will sort it.
Its so fucking easy.
bzu said:Customer should be billed of a service when he/she actually uses it. And I sent them an e-mail to cancel the subscription before my last one ended.
Total madness

Requiel said:We can't close your account because you send us an email. That's why we have a secure webpage for account transactions.
At any point during your subscription period you can cancel autorenew and you will not be billed anymore. Can't really see what we could have done here to be honest and the subscription pages have not been down for about a month or so.
bzu said:Thats not true, it wasnt up when i tried to cancel auto-resub, atleast i didnt get in. It was down !!! Stop trying to cover up the things goa is incapable of handling. I am a customer, i can see what kind of bs it going on there... got a pair of eyes you know.
Auto-renew being turned on without your knowledge is a different issue to the one the original poster had and I have no idea what caused that or if it is still an issue now that the subs pages have been overhauled. If that happened, then of course I wouldn't deny that it was a problem with our system, however Bzus problem was that he had set his account to auto-renew and hadn't cancelled it at all.Fana said:Well Requiel, regardless of that its a well known fact that people have had auto-renew mysteriously activated after months of inactivity (dont tell me you have missed all the threads about this over the last couple of years). So i would not be so quick at saying its not your fault, and that the website is working as intended. This is a serious matter and you should treat it as such.
That beeing said i dont agree with the initial posters use of language - try beeing more civil when adressing GOA, hatefull comments as the ones you used wont exactly help you. Can understand that you are angry though.
Apart from the downtime on Thurs 27thRequiel said:They came back up on the 26th and have been up uninterrupted ever since.
lol, if they billed you only when you used DAoC, you'd be quite happy if they deleted your charachters and account details when you wern't using it to free up space?bzu said:Customer should be billed of a service when he/she actually uses it. Requiel said:I'm not covering up for anything. The last tiem the site was down was when we took it down for maintenance on the 24th of May. They came back up on the 26th and have been up uninterrupted ever since.
It's possible that either your computer or your ISP had the maintenance page cached but that is not something we can be responsible for.
