Found out via the link on the 'friday news' of September the 5th that GOA is busy with hosting another MMORPG.

www.ryzom.com Check it out. Graphics and game looks funny, however what concerns me is:

Will this mean less attention for DAoC in europe?

Afaik it's not actually GOA which run it, but a company called Nevrax (they had a stand at E3). Nevrax is part of Wanadoo (like GOA is) but is a separate entity to GOA.

Cut and paste from mentioned URL above :

"Wanadoo, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is one of Europe's leading Internet and directories companies.
Wanadoo is a leading Internet media services provider in France, the U.K. and Spain, and is also present in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Wanadoo is expanding its Internet operations through, amongst others, high speed Internet access and through online directories.
Further information on Wanadoo can be found on the company's web site at : www(.)wanadoo(.)com.
Wanadoo is active in gaming through both its Wanadoo Edition subsidiary and GOA, its online games department. Wanadoo Edition spans the production, publishing and distribution of video games for consoles, CD-ROM games and Internet games. GOA operates the French-language portal www(.)goa(.)com for multiplayer games, as well as massively multiplayer games localized in several languages for European gamers. "

cant post url's yet so put brackets around .'s in them.

Can go two ways, more dosh for them to help bring together a better service for all games they host, or maybe a thiner service for all. all depends on their business strategy.

"The Saga of Ryzom will be localized, published and operated in Europe, the USA and Asia. Wanadoo is already covering publishing for Europe while Goa will operate the game. Other deals will be announced soon regarding the USA and the Asian territories."

ahahahahahaha--

Xarr is right, Nevrax is NOT part of Wanadoo. They deal with Wanadoo (GOA) for EU servers (like Mythic do with DAOC).

nevrax are the developers (the nerds that actually make the game). wether they are connected to wanadoo somehow is really irrelevant. goa will be 'operating' the game. i guess that means they will be running the servers and whatnot. if they're gonna be doing the translations i feel really sorry for all the european players of ryzom :p

As far as I know Ryzom will be run by GOA, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything will change for DAoC Europe.

Dark Age of Camelot isn't GOA's only venture you know :)
The fact that they posted a job opening for a Spanish translator on the DAoC site a while ago doesn't mean they'll be running Spanish DAoC servers..

Do they manage to run any of the others in a proper professional manner, or are they all subject to the same incompetent garbage we've been subject to for the last 18 months? :p
