I've only ever heard of GOA events either after the event on forums, or half way through them happening when I log on and everything is buzzing, when of course its too late for me to join in.

Where are these things publicised? How can I find out about them well enough in advance to make sure I can manage to attend one!? I'm not even sure I know anyone who's been on one.

The Skalds (yup, Middie) are useless. About once a month I consider checking with them and they've always just had the same stuff as when they first appeared. Which is unfortunate as I see that suffering from Cry Wolf syndrome.

Im sure Requiel will answer this :) but anyway, normally they only give a max of 24 hours notice of any event, and with that only clues to whats happening. The latest one was on Albion, where they had an event linking Weathyl(sp) Village to Midgards Iarnvindur Lair. As usual, NPCs were set in motion to tease up an audience, and so the zerg began.

The last one on Mid, they rather sneakily parked the event right on top of the PL groups of moderna, getting their attention.

Watch the news on www.daoc-europe.com for updates.

Events happen every two weeks and generally on a Thursday evening. We rotate through the realms which means that each realm gets an event every 6 weeks. Yesterday it was Albion's turn, the next event (in 2 weeks yesterday) will be on Hibernia and the one after that will be on Midgard. Then we'll start with Albion and so on. In general the events start at around 20:00 cet (19:00 bst) and last until 23:00-00:00 cet.

We do not advertise ALL events because somtimes the event itself cannot be advertised. The redcap invasion of Bjarken in Midgard could not have been advertised in advance as it was a surprise attack. On the other hand, the event last night on Albion was advertised a few days in advance with some cryptic story about strange winds in Avalon Isle.

We are working on modifying the criers on a much more regular basis but more on that later (once we're ready). Usually there will be a period of time between when an event starts and when people actually start doing whatever they are supposed to be doing on the event. This is to allow guilds and alliances to spread the word and gives everyone a chance to make it in time.

So quick recap a la Sudden Strike:

Events every 2 weeks
Rotating through the realms (Alb->Hib->Mid)
usually on Thursday evening at 20:00 cet
finishing between 23:00 and 00:00
When advertised they are advertised on the official GOA homepage.

Things we will do to warn people in advance

- post here with links to the main website
- update the criers more frequently
- invent new nasty mobs to create massive player deathspam (people seem to notice this better than any announcement :flame: )

Hope this will help you get on and enjoy the next event.

Ta for that :)

I remember now bumping into the action at Bjarken. Sadly we were trying to meet up for a guild xp session in TH. Still got one left to reach 50! That must have been a Wednesday.

Sadly I'm usually busy elsewhere on Thursdays, but thanks for the info. I'll keep my eyes peeled :)

make it same level as.....Behemoth

he's 1 tough guy if you're not prepared to run :p
