Alos Mythic get subs + licensing fees, we get subs - licensing fees.

Mythic host+develop, GoA host

For one side of the equasion there is another, customer just sees the same game with less service but at a higher cost.

The fact that in this day and age, if a user has a problem he/she has to follow a complex chain to try to get in game support (or visit a webpage to log a rightnow) is kinda poor.

Fortunatly when I had problems during my time in DAOC there was nearly always a GM around, or avaliable through E&E. My experiences were very good, but you can see how frustrating it can be for others.

I'd like to know why was RightNow chosen as the preferred support tool for GOA support. Given that Mythic coded an ingame support system which gets used every day on the US servers, why were we given an inferior support tool?

If I have a problem with a master level raid (or any other raid), I don't want to wait up to 48 working hours for a reply from a webpage, I don't want to contact rude/annoying E&E to contact a support team who I should have more direct access to.

I was under the impression Mythic used Rightnow too

I was also under the impression using the in game "/csr" command, simply logged a call on Rightnow, and the CSR staff would action those

but who knows

actauly I think DAOC is the only MMORPG ive played over the last few years that does not have the means to log a support request while in game.

Ohh and I know what you mean about the E&E, asked politely for help once and got told to "shut the fuck up"

Mythic have an offline webform for technical issues but all ingame issues have to be appealed and resolved ingame.
We don't use the /appeal system because it requires a separate licence from Mythic which is not available to us.

I think I played every major MMORPG up till the release of DAoC and to be fair to the GMs, they do a better job than any MMORPG I played.
Not saying they're as good as the US Servers but I don't think anything is online wise tbh, so it's hardly a demerit to them and unfair to make the comparrison

Erivoss isn't a GM and never has been. He used to be the English Storyliner (person responsible for organising events on English servers) and testing person. Nowadays he's moved to a more senior testing position.

Completely agree, the GM's from my experience playing DAOC was far better than any other MMORPG, asking a CSR from EverQuest for a "pizza" when they follow their "is there anything else I can help you with?" speech is not a good idea. I guess everyones seen the logs of the GM from WoW who wasnt feeling very piraty. The first post here was not to question the quality of GM's simply their availability.

I still question purchasing the full DAOC bundle and starting again, it truely was a great time, but ...well...... humpff.....
