No not the car website. I stood on my glasses and bent the frames. Bent them back a bit and they were fine, but only for 2 weeks. The other night they broke.

I've superglued them back together for now but I need new ones. Has anyone any experience ordering new bins from the online shops? They're a damn sight cheaper than the local opticians, and with the taxman banging on my door at the end of January I could do with saving some cash.

I plan to get my eyetest done at the local optician and order online. Anyone else done this?

Thanks. It doesn't look like I have anything more than a £20 to lose so I'll give it a shot. Only complication is my prescription is a bit complicated IIRC.

Fuck sake. I have the most awkward prescription possible and a rugby-shaped eyeball.

Totally broke?

Before Christmas I went around a mates in London and got severely hammered, woke up the next day to find my glasses had been mutilated ( bent out of shape, one of the lenses fell out, the lense part of the frame was completely borked and the screw that would hold the lense in had gone missing). Still half drunk, disorientated and no idea where I was I managed to somehow get myself back to Colchester went in to an opticians within 20minutes.

They fixed it for free.

Not a chance of repairing them. Imagine trying to glue a CD back together so it plays.

A couple of my cow-orkers have tried online glasses, one ordered two pairs, one of which looked really crap on him, so he sent them back and got a full refund.

As far as I remember it was Glasses Direct (the one started by some 21 yo entrepreneur).

I went to the opticians the other day to get contacts because i keep getting pissed and breaking my glasses. He told me i had a rugby ball shaped eye too. Only 12.95 a month though for contacts and cleaning fluid etc etc, seems reasonable to me.
