Basically i logged in 3 hours ago to start getting pop-ups about critical errors with windows , they gave webbies such as http://www.fix-reg.com which i found couldnt be accessed to i take it dont exist , anyway i ignored it for afew more mins and the pop-ups continued and wouldnt even give me a chance to log out of daoc as they put me straight back to desktop.
I had no choice but to kick the power switch :< . I then logged in and put up norton antivirus and auto-protect and it put me through to windows malicious virus program which i downloaded and ran 2 times , each time it detected a virus and restarted , the pop ups still remain ... and no norton seems to be blocking me from logging into cammy as when i get to the server selection screen the icon for daoc just dissapears :<

The pop-ups still remain and im sat here scratching my head ...... givf help plz , someone must have experienced this b4

As well as the url above it is also giving me http://WWW.WUPDATE.NET

I think this is just aggressive spam but im not sure and its slowing my computer , when i went to the webbie mentioned in post above it found 510 errors in my computer ..... there was 0 yesterday , is this a scam ? All of the webbies it mentioned are charging for the service .

And more importantly how do i get norton antivirus to stop me from playing daoc , it keeps cutting me off when i pick server and click play .

Also try 'Spybot - Search and Destroy' a very good free program that will catch alot of crap. I use only this program plus a hardware firewall and it seems to work. Although i dont visist questionable sites and never accept activeX controls etc.

Well its now 5 hours and ive sent afew error reports and found the name of the virus

Sdbot Virus Variant (Win32/Rbot,TROJ_ROOTKIT.H,Troj/NtRootK-F)

Nasty fucker and i hope to god its gone , it slows ure comp to a snails pace and insta shuts ure comp down when u try to access net , /shudder

Its still here , its in my graphics driver and its slowing pc so much i cant play daoc at all :< ...... keeps saying windows has encountered an error QQ

Afaik infected file is C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\regsvr32.exefile

Still cant kill it tho ><
