gfx overheating ?

gf 6600

runs window stable at around 62 degrees
running daoc and other stuff, its going up to 85

doesnt sound right to me, and occasionally getting odd gfx crashes

any suggestions of a fix or workaround ?

the onboard fan is working , so ... any input appreciated

The Geforce 6600 had a lot of overheating problems, and it sounds like your card does as well - 60 when just in windows is too much, and 80+ is waaaay too high. The gfx problems you're getting are because your card gets so hot. I hope you still have insurance on that thing. A lot of people could get their cards replaced with a proper version of the 6600.

the 6600 line are renoun for running hot, but its not necessarily the card you should worry about, at that sort of temp it might be damaging the mobo, you might want to stick an after market fan on that, the Arctic cooling one for the 6600 line should do well and will run quieter aswell. If you're worried get a couple of case fans, and an asaka exhaust fan or two
