GFX card suggestions..

well im runign DAoC on a P2 350, with an ATI radon ViVo.

im not sure which card to go for.

afaik there is an Nvida GeForce 4 Ti4600 (8x agp)

or an ATI Radeon 9700 (8x agp)

the numbers could be a little out but in general which gives better games performance.
i read that the geforce was good now but the ati scales up better with processor speed, ie if i upgrate my processor at a later date the ati's performance would then be improved more than the geforce.

but then atm ATI's drivers are rather crap.

Well I'm not sure tbh, many games these days are written with GeForce's in mind although I heard great things about the ATI as well.

In my opinion, I'd go for the GeForce4. I've got one and it's an amazing piece of kit and it's never let me down.

A GeForce4 would do nowth to your current system with such a slow processor.

If budget is tight, I'd reccomend a geforce2 MX 400

had one before I upgraded, and it ran DoaC pretty smoothly

If you have the money, I'd reccomend getting a new pc

I would not recommend any G-Force card in the MX range, mainly because it lacks a lot of the features the SI engine will bring. As for the Ti4600, tbh for the extra cost its not worth it, the Ti4200 does the job admirably, for about 2/3 the price.

However, I would also recommend you update your processor and memory asap. Sorry to say its gonna cost ya, but thats life

at the moment the Raidon is the best card (a lot of) money can buy...
with your specs tho it's completely wasted and I'd go for some GForce2MX on budget...anything above that is just making an even bigger bottleneck out of your processor
