Getting out of ADSL contract

Ok I've posted this in one of my other threads but I was wondering if someone could help me.

How does someone get out of a 12 month freeserve contract so they can pursue a different service provider (i.e. a good one that has a 1mbit option)?

The person has been with freeserve for about 7 months I think.

We really need the 1mbit which freewank don't provide.

You can buy out (pay until the end of the contract) complain about something petty until they get really pissed off, jump ship at a price increase (sometimes gets you out of the contract), or pretend you are moving house to somewhere without DSL.
