you could do it over a network... just requires two computers to have a network card and an ethernet between them.

I'm not sure if this would work but you could stick camelot.exe onto a USB drive, stick it onto your no-cd-drive computer and then run it and re-download all the files... would take a while though :p

just download camelot.exe and update.dat from someone and put it on, goes faster if you do it now then to find someone that can help you with fixing a network between then or doing slave/master and move a hdd inbetween the comps if you dont know how to do it yourself.

dont take so long tbh to dl daoc.

You can just copy the entire install folder direct from one machine to the other. If they're both networked it'll be faster across your 100mb network than over your 512k-10mb internet connection.

If you have the network cards yes...and it will need to be a crossover cable I think if you are going straight from 1 pc to the next.

- install (if not already) a ethernet card in both pc's
- Connect both pc's with a CHROSSED rj45 cable or 2 straight with a hub
- install the netbui protocol on both pc's (netbios for xp)
- install the microsoft client for filesharing on both pc's
- make sure both pcs got the same workgroup
- into explorer, share the cdrom drive
- on the cdrom less pc, browse in the network to the shared cdrom and lounch the setup.
if you cant find the pc on the lan, make sure both got a ip number you can check this by typing "ipconfig" in a command window.

Good luck.

you don't need netbui only TCP/IP (which is installed as default on 2K and XP)
9x will require an install for TCP/IP

The client is "client for microsoft networks" (which is installed as default on 2K and XP) this will install on 9x when u install nic drivers (regardless of protocol) although it can be added removed sperately.

workgroup is irrelivent, you can browse between workgroups

if using windows xp sp2 you will need to disable simple file sharing to allow shares

"ipconfig" is a nt/2k/xp command it's 9x counterpart is "winipcfg"

IP Numbers and oddly enough /IPconfig relate to tcp/IP so why u mentioned netbui having written this is beyond me :p

other than that when u set up shares you need to be able to acces those shares, but it aint worth talking about till we know what operating sytems are being used.
