Getting a group 40+ without a 2nd account impossible??

I returned to daoc 1 month ago and well i have been trying to level my chanter up.
There is 1 problem i cant get a group or even make a group.
Everyone is at fins, problem is you can only get into a fins group with a fop druid or an animist. I still wonder how do people level there toons without a 2nd account.
Ok level 40+ animists and ML5 druids,bards can level aswell. For all other classes how do i get a group???
Only times i can get a group is when DF is open.

So how do i get a group.

Btw if you are interested i got a level up solo'ed it all the way and that took fecking long even with a chanter which has full af51 99% sc suit.

yeah seems to be quite difficult these days but i usually get a grp of guildies for a set time b4 a rvr grp starts

I got into fins as solo healer, with your chanter you can try stunner or lootpicker Will prolly get in if you are awake long enuff

Not for us old players who already have more chars (now with MLs, Artis, RvR: couple toons are more than enough if you have a life).

But almost impossible for newcomers to "enter" the game.

And no game can last without fresh blood.

Go back to the old chant focus pulling method which was the 'in thing' before ppls discovered animists. Helps to have a druid with u but not essential. Shouldnt be impossible to find 1 of those (cough!!).

Fins gets removed in 1.70 anyway so all the boring whines and hatred should improve

make your own group, pm people around your level see if they are interested, at least thats what i did when i exped pre power level.

Had the same problem a while back, the only real options are:

1) Get a guildie to help PL anywhere you can (thank you Ortunga =) )
2) Solo xp using focus pull in frontier in order to get frontier bonus
3) DF groups
4) Lost seed etc quest (will give you about 4 bubs at lvl 49)
5) Tag along with arti xping groups in ToA
6) Attend a few ML raids for xp - especially ones with plenty of mobs - eg 4.2, 1.7 etc

Failing that its real sucky and not easy at all. I have no doubt I'll never be xping another char again mainly sue to the state of play atm.

See there is also another problem i actualy like pve, and i dont call focuspull or animist xp farm real pve. Last time I leveled my chanter in groups was back in the focuspull days, with a tank group inside tur suil. That was actualy fun and you had to be on your toes because of the pop that could happen anytime. Problem is my druid has become boring in pve due to playing him to much, plus druid is a boring class.
Also the making a group thing just doesnt work anymore i have done allot of /who 40 48 and pm'ed people. But I gave up after allot of waiting for fins or crafting replies. Also if you find a few people the group is never finished to 8 people. So its actualy a gimp group. Then people start to whine that the xp is bad and then they leave.

Oh well enough of my ranting. Thanks for the serious replies anyways.

Tbh, I cant say it'll get any better really, so I'm only really waiting for WoW/Ryzom/Other decent MMO to grab my attention.

me and my girlfriend went here from lvl 1 about 3 months ago

mana ment/ mana chanter and a buffbot.
all 50 now and we got some serious money from certain hibs to help us out.

but...

we did 1-48 as a duo.
dont get me wrong.. we wanted to group.. but there was none.. and the odd days we got into a group they were either complete noobs on their classes or it disbaned.

48-48.8 we quested

48.8-50 we grouped with a nice animist and his leech (didnt need more then his bot. my bot. his any.. vecu pbaoe and me pull) @ mau exile. wich was uber fast


to be honest i just made an alt couple days ago in mid and was talking to a savage, and he Discouraged me to rolll mid on prydwen because he knew i wouldnt get into a normal vl group anyway

(same as happend to on hib excali)

your screwed.. dont expect a group.. and if you get it expect it to be filled with total random noobs (no offense)

I recently started here, following Legar and his GF to Excal. I knew that Hibernia has a tough leveling grind from 40 to 45. But I never seen it ridiculous as this. I simply....solo. There just are no groups. When DF opens, there are no lower groups either.

However, fins is stacked with people but the list is just so plain stupid. I dont understand why people would wanna stay on a list for days. Hell, I wonder where people get the time to wait for it at all. Sure, tried it last saturday. Gave up on end of day.

Its going to be a really really long long time before my blademasters gets around 46 so DF groups and the better quests become interesting.

i have him in my friendslist, and hes on almost every day.

Was reading some forums about WoW Beta.
(And NOT im not a WoW fan, I don't think ill leave DAoC, I don't think WoW will be comparable to DAoC anytime soon, etc)

From people testing it, many DAoC players, I noticed real enthusiasm for two very simple things:

> No buffbot: buff are so spread in the classes that each member support the others in some points. No need and no fear in the future of those stupid immobile robots watching walls in RvR and PvE

> Grouping: good mix of balanced skills needed to PvE, like in DAoC old days, and good balanced groups having fun together. No stupid PL groups with 2 overpowered PvE classes and a small army of stupid afk leechers.

Is that so hard to find an escape to this situation?
Doesn't Mythic and the community realize that without a solution to this two problems DAoC will die to a new game.
WoW?, another game?, who knows? but for sure all the statements from Blizzard about a system that learned from the competition and is immune to BBs risk teached us that Blizzard understood that THIS is the point to hit if you want to drive the casual player to your game!

(and Frior interview means Mythic is maybe getting the point....)

I am still waiting for the: "get a second account you gimp posts" .
But its nice to see everyone agrees with me, well sort of.

I am thinking of starting a fixed group with a couple of people. With real classes ofcourse. So basicly a tank group, 2 tanks 1 druid 1 bard 2 casters 1warden and a stealther. Or maybe instead of the stealther another tank or warden.
Also it wont be a fast level group but just walk around SI or Classic zones, doing group quests etc. Ofcourse with new characters (so level 1 or 20). Dunno if there is any need for it.

I think for now I'll play with my level 50 (thank god i have 1) and with all my bg char. Poor pharao will have to wait (damn char was created 1 month after beta test when I went from alb to hib)

Or maybe get a fixed group started, have to think about that, although if i make a fixed grp it would be 1 to 3 hours max a day, just a casual playing style.

WoW doesnt interest me much.

Also good luck to all the people leveling up on there own, or trying to get groups.

i also started playing again a month ago, and i agree with you. I don't have a lvl 40 char atm but after spraggon den it seems to be hard to find groups
Ah well, at least my hero is part of a very nice 3-person fixed group and my guild does some nice pve raids every now and then (allthough only my 50s are high enough to join there atm, other chars would just get PL and i don't want that).

I would rather carve my heart out with a wooden spoon, than to support the people there by picking up their loot, nor would i play my character anymore if just 1% of my xp was gained from that crap place. Ruins Hibernia imo.
