Well from the moment 1.3 was released you changed your servers to 16 players ....bad , 18 is the absolute minimum...
I havent played on a bw server sinds the patch was released, reason : usualy most servers are empty , bad ping , not enough players.... i dont care about voice com just make it 18 players again.
Everyone i know who use to play alot on bw servers (mostly bw8) isnt playing on it any more and they all say the same thing >> bw is crap sinds the new patch is out.
I cant uderstand how u can have problems with pings with 18 players , when i play on a german server (ish.com) i get pings of 40-60 on a 32 player map....now that rox!
plz get it sorted , bw is no fun as it is.

Says U............On a lot of maps I find 18 players pure fodder.

Most the old players don't play any more because of the massive increase in the number of cheaters since 1.3 was released.

I noticed that.

I saw Ono on this morning on BW 3 (I think) and asked him how he was.

He said he was pissed off with the cheaters and the immature attitude of many online gamers. Then he left.


It's sad that many of the old timers have left. Wonder what they all play now?

tbh i dont see the cheat issues as a reason to stop playing.
yes its annoying if someone has that kind of an advantage, but remember that its your actions that can make you do well..even someoen who knows where you are still may have to face you face to face(3 faces in a row? raa!), which is when experiance counts.

as for 18 player servers....

tbh, CS was never meant to be an 18player game, yes there are large maps out there that support large numbers of people these days, but maps like assault are awful with so many people on.

with 9 people per side you lose the sense of 'an infiltration squad'.

hmm 18 players is to many.i like the bw 12 man servers.less lag,lower pings,less twats.(usually):)

As for 18 man servers, they were more deathmatch than CS. I didnt like the 16 man at first, but now I'm fine with it. 18 man is too high for most CS maps as it is, 8 a side is fine, that one extra man makes a big and uneeded difference.

Most players have simply stopped playing on publics because of the vast number of cheats.

well its not on how it was meant to be, its on how it is today.
all i know for sure is i have alot more fun on a server with loads off players , then on one with less.
Its not just about cheaters that some ppl arent playing anymore on bw
On the server i play now (32ppl) i cant play 2 hours without some wallhacking twat , or maybe even a dude with some aimbot (yes it does excist i am now 100% sure) entering the game and screwing things up.But still i go play there goes its fun to play with alot off ppl , when u are really good , you get loads off kills :cool:
My clan m8s say the same , not enough players room in the bw servers.
Although i hope they will change it ,, i doubt they will

Skamp it is cheaters....many people have complained of it on these very boards. Nobody can be bothered any more and you only like larger servers because it makes you look good kill wise and SK can then fill at least half of it.

from the time i stoped playing on bw i rarly come across a fellow SK player , whe all seem to play on diffrent servers now.
I dont really care much for the clan anymore , i rarly play with the tag on , usualy its Skamp_X or MrX .
I do kinda miss all me m8s on bw8 :(

Only me and isuck still play on bw8.

The port change was a mini disaster, so many Cs players jsut think Bw died, thus the servers have never regained the fullness they once had :/

As for 18 man or higher, its deathmatch, its no where near the same feeling as playing CS in wars etc.

12 man servers are better imo, a bit more tactical. Though you don't see me on Barrysworld anymore, because I tend to sculk in my clan server, or play on a little AHL server.;)

You will all learn to love Action Half Life.:D

If we do this, will I get a better connection than the shite Im currently experiencing?

As a 56ker, I prefer the 12 man servers, less ping and less lag.

But, that is my own opinion, not necessarily(?) shared by others.

Have you ever tried playing cs_747 on a 20 man server? It's pretty grim. Now, I'm trying to imagine that on a 32 man server, and my response is...thanks, but no thanks.:p

the worst part is when you see 32man dust only servers :rolleyes:

a map which is entirely based on 2 choke points, and no morem, and that can be dominated through rushing....with 16 guys a side..

almost as bad as a 20man 2fort only server. TFC pwns and yo know it!:zzwhip:

18 players!? I was playing a BWCSL cmatch last night, tehre was 10 of us (two we're MPB/LPB, and the rest of us were HPB) and the lag was ridiculous!!

Well, I tend to play on a clan server (A$Z), and Barrysworld has a couple of servers. Once I get round to sorting out my router (must upgrade the firmware :mad: ) I'll have my own little server. And if I can persuade my clan to get a Barryserver, that'll be AHL too.

I'm an asset to the community, ain't I?

i used to be pretty good with ahl.
theres a jolt pistols tourny running atm, akimbo and single pistols only, standard knockout system.
due to the fact i used to play excuslively with single pistols, i have a feeling ill be doing quite well.

first round is over, butmy opponent didn't show so i got a forfit.
the only thng which will stop me doing really well and proving my ahl 1337ness is the fact i havent played AHL for nearly 2 months now, and i accidently uninstalled it, losing my config and autoexec files in the proccess.

dammit i dont know how ill play without them :(

Hanging on to fire arms atm, but thinking over a return to quake 2, or maybe a jump over to q3ctf to join up with my buds.

One things for sure it won't be cs for a while, half the people cheating in every game you play isn't fun:p

Finally found the right thread to post this in :clap:

I think BW CS servers have started to liven up again - as ch3t said a bit further up, I think the port change was a bit of a disaster. As to the cheat problem - theres a lot of new player who instantly accuses experienced older players of cheating - and once one person cries cheat, more often than not a witch hunt starts.

The only probs BW, imo, are having at the moment are the random server crashes - I've been on the dual duster (which, admittadly, seems to be right in the middle of the cheat accusation whirlwind) several times in the past week when it has been reset.
