GeForce3 later vs GeForce 400MX now!

I have just got paid

As a result I am looking at upgrading my lowly PC. (K6-2 300/96smeg/VIA 82C597 rev 4 <needed driver download before modem even works!> mobo/ATI Xpert@JerkyPictures graphics /56k / Circa1994 14 incher).

I'm thinking maybe:

- Graphics processor - NVIDIA GeForce3, processor clock: 200 MHz
- Memory equipment - 64-MB DDR SDRAM, 3.8 ns access time, 460 MHz effective memory clock, Lightspeed Memory Architecture
- RAMDAC/pixel cycle - 350MHz
- Bus-System - AGP2x/4x, includes Fast Writes und Execute Mode


Or is it really worth all that spondoolicks if it probably won't work at full steam on my system anyway (sucky VIA mobos don't really work at AGP4x -mine hardly works in AGP2x )

So.. more sensibly in an accounts sort of way....

Just bought 1 myself after several years of a TNT2, it's better than the MX and for that price I don't see the point in spending silly money for a GF3.

A GF3 in a system with that spec is pointless.

To be honest, concurring with Emb and taking it to the next level: All of those graphics cards are a waste in that system, save the money and get a new mobo/cpu

£250 for that tho (more for intel gear which is much better). My P1 performed better than this one, because it had a 3DFX card - therefore - new card replaces ATI shite for massive performance increase. No?
