GeForce probs with Q3

Just wondering if anyone with a GeForce had had any problems running Q3. A mate has a CL GeForce and it locks up after about 5 minutes which he thinks is due to heat. It only exhibits this problem with Q3 and some of the DirectX 7 demos that use the T&L.
