i have bought 2 US wow's on ebay and had both sellers return my payments.

the 1st transaction involved a shipping fee. i didn't want the item shipped, so i just included the negative value of the shipping in the paypal transaction to effectively cancel the shipping out.

the seller said that i must pay shipping and have it shipped or else i can cancel my payment upon receiving the cd key.

is this true? can all payments be cancelled or only ones that dont have a shipping fee or what?

anyway he refunded me so no big deal.

so i try for a second bid and explain to a different seller how i dont want item shipped and so wont pay shipping etc

he adjusted the amount so that NIL appeared in the shipping "field" and i promptly paid. then, just now, he emails me to say this:

"I have received your PayPal payment, but I cannot accept credit card payments since I do not have a Premier or Business PayPal account. I will deny this payment and await another non-credit card payment."

So he wants me to use my bank account rather than my debit card of my bank account to pay the funds. (Whats the difference?)

So I go onto paypal and try to use my bank account to pay but it's unconfirmed and will have to wait 3-5 working days before it will get confirmed.

so i pretty much told the 2nd seller that i wont complete transaction as he didnt stipulate all this crap in his auction.

all very dissapointing. i've never had any problems like this before with other types of auctions. whats the big deal about buying wow?

regards

It's not WoW, it's because it's your first time using Ebay and PayPal. Have come across the same problem myself ... the seller can upgrade his PayPal service to accept credit card payments, but PayPal (which is owned by Ebay) will deduct a percentage of the sale price of the goods.

Technically he is obliged to honour the deal he entered into with you, but enforcing it can be problematical at best. Ebay do not police these things like they should and if you leave negative feedback against his name he will put some bullsh** reason explaining away your comments.

Been there, done that.

Dodgy ppl u bought from tbh, shouldnt be prob just to say u only need cdkey emailed and not the game boxes. Hence no shipping fee. But shipping fee usually not included in price anyways.
And yes, why wait 2 months for EU when u can play now :p
