Much as I'd love to help you, I hated Geograpy GCSE myself and thus didn't bother doing any work in it. :) Luckily, unless you're planning to continue it to A-level or (God forbid) degree level, no-one's going to give a toss about it.

I p0wn3d my Geography GCSE.

A word of advice - if you're asking for help writing the introduction, how about revealing what it is you're writing an introduction to? Muppet.

you asked for it. not me:

The overall aim of the enquiry is: to compare the 2 costal zones of dukhan and messaieed on opposite sides of the qatar peninsual

hypotheses 1: Dukhan and messaieed experience different costal processes

hypothesis 2: Human influence is greather at messaieed than Dukhan

Write absolutely anything and chuck in these key terms...
  • Coastal erosion
  • Industrial impact
  • Destructive waves and constructive waves
  • Coastal transportation
  • Beaches Spits, Bars and Tombolos
  • Growth of tourism and leisure industry
  • Coastal management strategies
  • Water polution
  • Deltas and shit
... and look forward to A* joy.

Also mention tectonic activity because that's the only interesting part of Geography.

And long-shore drift. The fact that this shortens to LSD was funnier in Year 10 than it is now, mostly due to geography being so damn boring.

hows this so far:

Introduction

Comparing two costal locations

Aims and Hypothesis

AIMS
1. Compare to two costal zones of Dukhan and Messaieed on opposite sides of the Qatar peninsula.
2. To compare the costal processes that occur at each location and how it effects them
3. See if prevailing winds effect the rate of erosion at the locations
4. To compare industrial, tourism and commercial influence at the locations

HYPOTHESIS
1. Dukhan and Messaieed experience different costal processes
2. Human Influence is greater at Messaieed than Dukhan

Organisation of Fieldwork
This is how I will lay out my investigation: -
· Introduction
· Method
· Hypothesis 1 ? results and analysis
· Hypothesis 2 ? results and analysis
· Results
· Conclusion
· Evaluation

added some more:

Dukhan and Messaieed are the two costal zones that we studied for our coursework, located on opposite edges of the Qatar peninsula, Messaieed on the South East side and Dukhan on the North West side, leading into the Gulf Sea (refer to the attached map of Qatar.)
The study location at Messaieed had an Oil Terminal and a beach resort, The Sealine Resort, located a short distance to the North of the beach. This could mean that the Messaieed location has more human influence than the Dukhan location, which had a large-scale habitation to the North and pipelines leading along the coast running from the North to the South.
Due to the leisure facilities located at Messaieed, could this mean more human usage at the study location e.g. quad biking, increased traffic
Prevailing winds from the North West could mean that destructive waves are formed at Dukhan, this would be because the wind would encourage the formation of destructive waves by providing more energy which creates a weak wash and a strong backwash meaning that sand and shingle would be pulled down the beach. Whilst in Messaieed constructive waves would be formed, meaning that they have less energy thus creating a strong swash that carries material up the beach and weak backwash. Prevailing winds could also cause the sand dunes, which had travelled to Qatar from Saudi Arabia when there was a land bridge between the two countries, to travel across Qatar towards the East coast, thus meaning that the beach would also be built up by a supply of sand being blown into the sea by the prevailing winds.
Another costal process that needs to be considered is the effect longshore of drift; this is where material travels up the beach in a series of zigzag patterns caused by the constant swash and backwash of the waves, the material is then deposited in a sheltered area e.g. the bay at Dukhan. This would cause a different costal pattern at one study location compared to the other study location, which might not be effected by longshore drift.
