GC memory cards

Could I have some help please as I'm completely new to the GC/consoles generally.

Play have the official mem card and a Datel mem card for the GC - should I go for the Datel as per the reviews or stick with official stuff? Thanks

official IMHO.

I've heard reports of people losing saved games on shite 3rd party ones. I've only ever used official ones for my DC and any other console anyway. Not saying ALL 3rd party ones are shite, just that I don't see people complaining about the official....bleh mouthful.

I got a 3rd party one when I got my GC and I can testify that it is a piece of junk.

OK there were times it might have been my fault but it regularly lost saved data (ie said it had become scrambled and card needed reformat)

Bought an official one and no probs.

lost count of how many un-official playstation one memory cards died on me.
