GBA backlight?

What do u lot think of that afterburner kit u can get for the gameboy advance at liksang.com? as it takes some soldering eek!

Theres another place… http://www.yourhappyplace.com/ in the US that do a service of installing them for u or selling a brand new GBA with it installed… anyone had this done? Or done it themselves?

Would just love to be able to play it like this…

My advance would then probably be used more than it is now!

well i ordered a afterburner kit from a uk website and it turned up on thursday. fitted it today (i remembered how to solder!) and it looks pretty good! it came with a dial to use as a dimmer which i fitted but i would recommend going for a optional chip u can fit which allows u to control the dimming by using the actual buttons on the GBA rather than trying to mount this dimmer dial on the case somewhere! the dial is mounted on a recess on the back of the case..

It was pretty fiddly some of it mainly due to having to cut some of the casing away internally to allow it to fit (if u have a dremel tho it'll be no prob i'm sure... but i'm happy i attempted doing it myself and the thing didn't blow up!!

works well at night and makes playing it during the day much better.

The idea of modifying my GBA amuses intensely, I like this idea and will be ordering one for myself. Anyone know of anymore mods (preferably funny)?
