This is kinda CS/Quake3 and hardware at the same time, so i'll post here.
I've had an ongoing problem for some time now and it really annoys me and i hope someone can help.
Usually when i play CS, i use the Nvidia quick tweak proggy to bump up the gamma so that CS is brighter since it's way too dark by default. The gamma/brightness controls don't work in CS, so i have to do it that way. I can come and go in and out of CS all day switching the high gamma on and off no problem.
Now, when i've been playing quake3 (or a game that uses the quake3 engine like JK2) where the gamma sliders DO work in game, i run into problems. Once i quit quake3 and then try to go into CS (using my nvidia quick tweak proggy to bump the gamma up), CS seems to put the gamma back to "dark as fuck". Even if i quit CS, put gamma up and go back in, it's still dark. It's as if it's ignoring the gamma setting i put on before i go in and going back to default. This only happens once being in a game with the quake3 engine.
The only way i have of rectifying this is to reboot the machine which i'd rather not do.
Can anyone shed some light or a fix on this?
My gfx card is a Creative 3d Blaster GF4 Ti4400 with 29.40 detonators (this has happened on every detonator release).
Cheers
