HardOCP have an intresting article comparing gaming on xp to vista, it is angled more at the gaming crowd but still worth a read if you are considering switching to the new os
Vista has been in the arse for me. XP with sp2 was very nice and stable, predictable errors... Vista has brought a large degree of randomness and a large amount of rebooting to my daily gaming. Though to be fair the compatibility options seem to fix most non-3d apps.
