Gamespy Vrs Game.net

Thoughts?

I tend to play more Gamespy I had Game.net free when I bought BF 1942 RTR, but I haven't installed it yet. Is it worth it or shall I save ma Money, for a full sub to Gamespy.

I don't know what you mean by full "sub" to Gamespy.

The Gamespy Network doesn't run any servers in the UK. The software is purely a means of searching for servers.

Game.Net (aka Barrysworld) is a dedicated network, they run their own servers and leagues, and provide their own software with which to access them.

A "sub" to Gamespy, I assume you mean registering? It's a different thing - registering GameSpy just gives you a few software features (Buddy lists and so forth). Subscribing to Game.Net is subscribing to a gaming service.

The are both completely different.

EDIT: Arse: sorry if that sounded a bit condesending and "newbie" ish, I didn't read your username/title properly!

I'll leave it there though, since some Newbies have come in before thinking GS and G.Net were the same sort of thing.

No I meant full sub as paying for it and being entilted to the Bonus Demos, Mods and Betas like the Planetside Beta with no ques, but under Free Sub ques are 300min odd.

well its $1.95 I think thats around £1.20 a month or $14.95 (£9.13) a year

thats not for the deluxe package, but this package allows to access the no que servers etc.

But what else does Game.net offer apart from Game Servers, the case included with the packaging wasn't to clear, is there a link or something I could go to.

Regarding FTP: It gives you fast access to the BW FTP - though they don't currently get any exclusives, so you'd still have to wait until the Fileplanet exclusive had expired on some demos.

Thanx I think I might go with Game.net, but one last question is the menu system similar to Gamespy Arcade, also With Game.net replace some of my servers for Battlefield or will it just add them on to the end.

You're trying to compare one tiny part of the BW service with one of the main parts of GS network.

I do tend to try to hunt down the exclusives so you wouldn't have to pay for them. Well, other than the GAME.NET sub.
