So, Yahoo - Games Domain have now launched a "games-on-demand" service where for a monthly fee you can, in effect, download and rent a number of games (I think it's unlimited number for $15/month). Currently the games they offer are pretty old and feature the likes of Daikatana, so it's not very good yet.

But, if a UK based company launched a similar service, featuring the latest games you want to play, and offering decent online games servers to play them on, would you sign up for it? and how much would you be willing to pay?
(Note you'd never have to buy the games, just have them on your subscribed to list for as long as you like, maybe with that list limited to 10 games or so).

Nothing , zilch, not a penny, its all a very silly idea and will only end in tears and loss in shareholders wealth.

Though so....but....

Currently GSP's are failing, and without GSP's there's no reliable servers.

Ultimately, there could be very few (call it none) dedicated servers to play on, so the only way to play games online is through peer-to-peer when you can get a game set-up.

Would you be willing to pay towards it then?

games-on-demand would at least mean you didn't have to pay for the game as well, but developers would still get some money so future games production isn't jeopadised.

If GSP's can't be made sustainable somehow, the future of online PC gaming is at stake.
