Game slowdown

I suffer game slowdown ( the frame rate drops) everytime it rains /snows ingame. This only happens running SI. No probs when running the old client. Ive got the latest Nvdia Drivers, 64mb gfxcard and 512mb ram.

Any ideas? Its becoming very frustrating.

CPU ? any other programs running in background ?

put aside a year or two and run a defrag/scandisk {seriously do this}

turn off/lower some screen settings {such as player names/graves/screen rez/far sight etc}

hope some of this may help you, major one being defrag!

Thx for the advice . I'll try it out. Forgot to add 1mhz Amd athlon ref the chip. No other background progs running.

SI is very demanding on systems, it requires high spec machines, just turn down shadows etc in game i found that helps alot

I had some slowdowns aswell till i patched to latest VIA drivers (ofcourse this will only work on VIA chipsets )
