I just downloaded the 14 day free trial, after not having played the game for two or so years, and am having some problems with it. I have quite high spec PC, but the graphics of the game can only be described as "jerky". When I turn the camera the game stutters, same when I move forwards. Have tried lowering the setting to minimum for best frame rate, but the problem still occurs. Anyone got any idea whats up? Also getting random disconnects from the server every few minutes. WoW runs perfectly at max setting on my PC, so I havent got any idea whats wrong.

Had this too.

2 Possible causes that I am aware of:

1) Anti Aliasing and Anti Anistropic options for your Video Card are set too high for DAOC. (Daoc doesn't like things forced up too high).

For NVIDIA, if you right click desktop, settings, advanced, Nvidia card. Then in the floating window on the left look for Performance and Quality Settings. In there you should see a list of different settings. Change Anti Aliasing and Anti Anistropic to Application Controlled. Note: newer drivers have a profile for DAOC, so you can change just DAOC and not Globally (may still have problems if you run window mode though).

For ATI, I haven't the slightest. I should imagine a variation of the NVIDIA steps though.

2) If you run a AMD Dual Core, Daoc also doesn't function well when set to use both Cores. To set it to use 1 core, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Task Manager. While Daoc is running you should see game.dll in the Task List. Click Set Affinity, and untick one of the CPU. Note changing this after removing one can cause problems. Also you will have todo this everytime you start up DAOC. If anybody knows a way for XP todo this automatically, please speak up.

From your description, I would has it a guess its more likely number 2, as those are the exact symptoms I got. Random Insta crashes (but says its a LD), and wierd spinning around and jerky graphics.

Hope this helps. :)
