Just thinking about it, over the past 2 years the price of new releases has gone up by 50% from £30 to £45 now... bastards...

I've not seen a PC game sell at anything more than £34.99 ever, unless it's been a special edition (/thinks RTCW Tin Box Ed.).

Depends what platform and where you buy it really.

Have to say I disagree...on the whole prices have stayed mainly the same with new releases on the PC costing £35 instead of £30 but often a couple of months after release they drop to £30 and the budget market is booming as well.

Console games also seem to of shifted very little in price.

As I never buy the games when full priced I don't care :)
I always wait and so rarely pay more than £10-£12, and usually less. Only exception are presents... the kids always want the new stuff

And if ya think PC games costs... check out the consoles. £45 for a game with no hope of ever extending it's life - unlike a PC game that gets add-ons and mods and so on. No wonder they happily sell the hardware at a loss !

Its been done for ages since, as you point out, they get money back via royalties on each game.

Shop online, who goes to shops anyway to buy games? Rarely pay £30 for any new game.
