About to start watching this, am I supposed to watch the pilot before starting season 1? The wiki is a little unclear, different casts and shit.

Considering it's never been aired how would you find it to watch it?

Except for the whole first season... which aired earlier this year?

The answer is the first season, the pilot would be irrelevant.

Just don't do what I did .....watch them from an external hard-drive and accidentally watch the last episode first and think you have no idea what's going on because it's a complicated show.

Definitely one of my dumbest moments :p

Almost finished the first book in the series now, I was so addicted to the show I couldn't wait for season 2 I'm going to have the read the books!

There wasn't a pilot. There was a 15 min preview, which was the first 15 mins of episode 1.

Just download it and watch it. It's one of the best shows in a very long time. Read the book first if you can though.

I see something labelled as a "pilot" but its probably a sneak preview or something, it's only ~280mb (s01e00).

The TV series is fantastic. Probably my favourite single series ever, hopefully the following ones will live up to expectation.

I finally finished the books a few weeks ago. Gutted the next one won't be out for ages!

Does anyone else believe the R+L=J theories? I really hope they turn out to be true. He better not be fucking dead. Also do you think he is Azor Azhai (sp) reborn? Personally I don't think any of the prophecies will come true. Or it's more likely to just be Dany as expected (she really irritated me in the last book).
Is Benjen Stark Coldhands? I was hoping he would have a more important role tbh.
Oh and is the Greenseer evil? Do you think he's the "one who we don't name" or whatever?

(spoiler relating to the end of book 5, dont click if you havent read)
He might be brought back in the same way dondarrion and Cat were, which interestingly would release him from his Night's Watch vows since he's technically died

I can't wait until the TV series gets to book 4 & 5.

Endless seasons of pointless wandering around the globe, irrelevant characters and filler and camping. Mustn't forget that endless camping. Frankly I hope the TV series ends after book 3 :)

Another book 5 spoiler:

I know what you mean. I was seriously pissed when I realised Tyrion wasn't going to get to Dany by the end of the book. Both of them seem to be back at square one, Dany in particular.I think they should skip most of the Iron Born stuff and just do book 4 and 5 in about 13 episodes if it can be done.
Oh and if the next book takes 4 or 5 years, won't the tv show eventually overtake it?

not really, considering it'll take a year or so to film, release and watch season and theres 5 more books to do

Just don't watch any of it due to it being the biggest pile of over rated shite ever made.

The Wire is the only series worth the hype it got.

Trem got angry because Raven's feature in it, and they are birds. Also grass doesn't grow with all the snow up north.

I love birds now!

Honestly, GoT was utter shite, I cannot think of one good bit in it, oh yeah.....when it finished, that was pretty awesome.

Started watching it. Quite enjoying it. Great sets, costumes & FX. The story seems pretty strong. For some reason I enjoyed Spartacus Blood & Sand / Gods of the Arena more. Will definitely watch the rest of the series. Maybe read the books too

Love Peter Dinklage's character. Very well acted

It starts a bit slow but once the intrigue gets rolling, and you start to get a grasp of where the story is headed - or at least you think you know where you think it's heading, it becomes one of the best shows on TV in recent years. Which probably says a lot more about how shitty "serious" TV has been recently.
