The servers in bold are the ones with the "Player Purge" system currently running, this means that if you are a Subscriber you should first log in to the GAME.NET system and then join the server, if you are not a Subscriber or do not log in then every so often you will be kicked from the server to make room for Subscribers to join. I should remind you that we will continue to run Subscriber only events and keep a number of Subscriber Only servers, these Preview servers are just intended to give you a place where you can get some games on until our service is at a size where we can sustain regular games on the Subscriber Only servers, along with giving non-Subscribers a chance to test out the service we offer. If you have any thoughts or comments to make about the Preview servers then feel free to post in the relevant game forum :).

Other service news to mention includes the addition of the JK2 ForceMod on both the Bookables and Clan Servers and, as a further part of our expanding Clan Server service which will be seeing some exciting developments in the Summer months, we have also increased the playerlimit for BattleField 1942 to 28 players (DesertCombat has been increased to 24 players). Upping playerlimits seems to be the theme of the week with our FreeLancer server also increased to cater for 50 players, whilst Player vs. Player has also been enabled which means you can now take on your m8s and blow the utter **** out of them :).

Files and Patches
A slightly odd week this one in terms of the ole Files & Patches, not a single playable demo that I can find which means you have to make do with Trailers and a variety of Patches / Mod Updates. Perhaps the good weather is the reason for the lack of sizeable files with game developers out working on their tans (yeah right), the most interesting trailer from my point of view being the 4 MB movie for upcoming shooter XIII, this comic-book style game has had me interested for a while now and this latest bit of gameplay footage (available here) shows off the various weapons and their alternate fire modes available in the game. A more graphically impressive trailer is the 22 MB one available here for Nexagon Deathmatch, this Action / Strategy game looks very nice indeed although there are no details yet on how you can purchase it in the UK. Also stunning to look at is the trailer for X-Box (and PC) game Advent Rising, at 22 MB you can grab it here and it crams a lot of lush movie footage into a small file so if it does indeed come to the PC could be a pretty big hit if the gameplay matches the looks. By contrast the trailer for upcoming flight sim Lock On isn't that special to look at but I guess I'm biased in that I do not really enjoy that genre of games, if however flight sims are your thang then get the 14 MB movie here.

It is straight into the patches & mods then with updates for a wide variety of games this week. First to mention is yet another patch for the very buggy FPS game Chaser, this taking the game to version 1.47 and downloadable here, whilst the more reliable RavenShield has had another official map release for the game, Combat Zone can be grabbed here and works for both Bomb and Team Survival modes. More substantial overhauls come in the shape of updates to two Half-Life mods, The BattleGrounds is based around the time of the American Civil War (is there anything the Half-Life engine can't be modded to?) and the 85 MB Version 1.2 (get it here) adds a bunch of new content and also includes a number of fixes for what is quite an interesting looking mod. At the other end of the timeline there is a brand new 140 MB version of post-apocalyptic mod The Wastes, having had a look at their site it also looks quite interesting with a variety of weapons and tribes to play as, you can check it out for yourself by clicking here.

Some miscellaneous patches to mention are small updates for Restaurant Empire (get it here), the recently released Morrowind: BloodMoon expansion pack (click here) and a beta update for Diablo II (get it here) although be warned, the Diablo II update will render online play impossible.

Special Offers
Those tax-dodgers students amongst you will probably be starting your summer jobs around now, if that is the case then you might find yourselves tempted into splashing a few of your hard earned pounds (or euros) on some new games or DVD's. To help you along with this painful process of parting with potential beer money the shop lads have sorted out a few deals for you, starting with some massive reductions on various PC titles (over 50% in some cases), whilst if you are looking for some other format bargain buys then click here.

If you would prefer to spend your summer watching DVDs then we've got a brand new 2 for £25 range for you to choose from - with excellent films like 28 Days Later, 8 Mile and The Bourne Identity included this is a great chance to expand your collection with more family orientated films also available should you need to pick up a cheap birthday present for a younger brother or sister.

I've also been asked to remind you all that you can still pre-order Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 from the GAME Shop, with both titles being massively reduced and coming with Double Reward points on offer if you are a reward card holder now is the time to get your order in, considering that you can buy the pair of them for under £50 in total it promises to be a very enjoyable (and cheap) Autumn when they are finally released.
