Are todays games being so complex that gamers are being put off? An article here on Game Chair takes a look at the question of complex games which may be sucking the fun out of gaming.

With new powerful next generation consoles soon to be available pushing gaming further are we starting to lose what makes a game a game? Can the focus be to much on the 'experience' and not enough on the gameplay and most importantly the 'fun' aspect of games playing? Are games companies starting to make more complex games which may be out of the reach of new / casual gamers?

What's your view?

i wouldnt say games becoming more complex is a bad thing. diffrent games in the market are for diffrent types of people like explained in that article. We are unfrotunately i would say going through the dark ages of gaming where every game has that samey feel but i have hope for the gaming industry yet

A game everyone can be skilled at is not a fun game for me.

My elitist "I-must-be-better-in-something-lol" view. For that, complex games are perfect, not every halfnut minded peep can master them.

Did they mention an example of such a game??

Or are they just theorising again?

I like complex games that make me think. :p

Don't see the problem tbh.
