Game freezes when i hit ESC?

I seem to have some kind of graphic (?) bug when i try to hit the ESC button. Normally I suppose there should be main menu screen as in all games.

However when i press ESC it bugs out like crazy, I can move the mouse and all but cannot click anywhere and the only way to solve this is to multiktask out and quit the game via the windows task manager.

Has anyone else had the same kind of problem?
I'm using one of the most common Nvidia gfx card so i don't think thats it.

The game is still buggy as fuck unfortunately....


....demonstrated by that shitty sound bug that means if you use certain soundcards (such as the one built into my nforce2 mb) after a while the sound gets crackly.....

log off and on and it resets to normal
