Game Freeze.....

Just got a new pc.

pent. 2.4
1 gb ram
geforce fx5700 .

pc only have windows instaled, and daoc, my problem is , when i reach screen where u chose character, the game freeze.

i got all the newest drivers, and direct x.

tryed to set cpu speed to run 2. ghz

runned a ram test, in 24 hours with no failure.

runned a stress test on cpu 24 hours with no failure.

anyone know what can be wrong.

What DAoC do you have installed again? just ToA version or the two other's to?

"Note to self: Make sure to install all 3 DAoC CD's on one drive"

and when i say all 3 i mean : Original DAoC, Shrouded Isles, and ofc ToA

I had a lot of problems with the game freezing when I first started playing over 2 years back, and found it was caused by incompatibility in my sound card.

Did you build the machine yourself? If you did, and when the game freezes you are getting a 'sound loop', then make sure on-board sound is disabled in bios and see if that helps. If still not fixed, disable the PCI sound card if you have one (remove it) and try again... If the game works fine with no sound, you've probably found the problem.
