Game dumps me out after 2 mins.

Hello girls and boys and trolls,

I have a problem and wonder if any1 can help.

I am unable to play DAOC from home at the moment. The game dumps me out, without fail, after 1 to 3 minutes, i mean dumps me out to the windows desktop.

Over the weekend, i reinstalled windows, reinstalled directx 8.1 two times, onces off disk and once off the internet, reinstalled the game (and all my other apps!) but still the same thing!

I have checked using a friends memory sticks, that its not bad memory, and the odd thing is that another 3d game (warcraft 3) works fine.

ALso its not my internet connection because that remains up, and i can surf and do other online stuff for longer than the three minutes.

Now i am not a techie person, but i am making a naive guess that the engine and DAOC game is making demands on something like my graphics card or drivers that the other games are not. its so odd that its only DAOC.

And the final clue is that i have been able to connect beyond 5 minutes (a short test made from my pc at work).

Any ideas guys? I will try and get updated drivers for stuff tonight, im a little bit angry, as i thought my long and boring process of reinstalling everything would work!

900mhz athlon
256 ram
geforce 2mmx
ADSL internet connection

any ideas guys? sensible suggestions gratefully recieved.

I would suggest you download the latest generic nvidia drivers (www.nvidia.com) as the first update.... it seems to be the graphics drivers that usually cause these kind of issues.
