Can you use a game pad or somthing similar for CS ?

Newbie to CS and online Gaming....But Trying

I believe you could use a gamepad or a joystick yes.

The question surely would be WHY!!!!!!!!!

Nothing is superior to the mouse & keyboard combo for FPS games.

When i first started out playing FPS (Quake3 was my First game) i used a Joystick, now, my aim was really shite, and someone in game finally said to me "Why dont you use Mouse/Keyboard, you will find it loads easier".. i didnt believe him because i thought M/K would be very hard to understand...

When i bought CS, i found that there wasnt enough Buttons on my Joystick for all the stuff... so.. i started using M/K.. i was useless to begin with, but i eventually got used to it!

Agreed, KB and mouse is THE best control system you can use, just alter the keys and stuff to what feels good for you. When I first started out I had my right mouse as move forward, this certainly helps..............I still use right mouse for forward:(

We got a guy in our clan (Judgemental) who uses a combo of joypad and mouse, I still have no idea how he does it and tbh don't want to know as Im afraid it may involve him having eight fingers on each hand :eek:

But he has always played it that way and seems to do quite well with it (nobody would know any different), so in answer to the original question YES you can play with joypad/joystick but most *normal* people use keys for movement etc ;)

Ffs I just thought, did we play your clan once on Italy Johnny? You kicked our asses and you were impressed with the way we took it(no accusations etc), it was in the E/D ladder earlier this year. We are {KEA} btw.

Ahhh KEA :rolleyes: I got confused when you gave me the IRC channel fo xatrix ;)

Yeah I think I remember that game (as we don't often play italy), did we go T first and shut you out? Which led to us having an easier time as CT ;)

As I said in PM, I definately sort a game out for next week (if poss) m8 :D

We have a game on monday Johnny so any day after that m8 :)

KEA has a few new players now (ECA will slag them but his clan h4x tbh and the server spam put us off ;))

2. No we dont, I've got the HLTV demo of our game of azzy and train, if you want either of them ask me on irc.
3. We're gonna get statsme off cuz its crap, but it was putting us off just as much as you :p

Tell bungle to fuck off (politely)

I dropped because I couldn't be arsed and the others have lives to attend to.

But in all honestly the server was full of shite that should be reserved for fun in a piss about. For a semi serious game the server should be bare back CS. But under no circumstances am I blaming that for our poor performance.

We played poorly and we lost. Shit happens. No love lost.

You do know for matches you can switch stasme off ;)

Whoever set your statsme up will know the statsme password, simply pull down console and type statsme_menu XXXXX, where XXXXX is the password. This pulls up the server menu and you can switch all the server say messages off :D

We have statsme on our server but tend to switch off for clan matches :)

Err , none of us said you were dodgy in any way shape or form, and I certainly didnt think so. Neither did I think we played that badly, it was a tough game, and I for one enjoyed it immensely. We have never played train with that team before, so it was new to us (as a team), we are still trying out tactics etc. However you lot won fair and square , dont mean I didnt enjoy playing the game though, because I did.
As far as the second map, you , or anyone in my clan, didnt tell me or suggest a second map, and therefore we wern't prepared for it, i had other RL stuff to do. Another time maybe.

Well I think someone just said what about another map after the first one.

Second time We've ever played train in a clan game btw.

Your server next time, and this time I wont be horrendously off form :-]

I will try changing the M/K Combination, Just trying to get used to this, Hey I did my first kill......Then i Got Killed but , Hey it's a good game.

Took me about a month to get more than 5 kills in a map. I still think back to those days, each kill was so exciting :D

I can remember it so clearly, like it was yesterday, waait a minute.....

Its the ultimate in head control devices. I myself use one regularly, and anyone who has seen me play CS can vouch for my u83r l337 skills. :rolleyes:
