Fuzzy Text in CS

Ive just reinstalled CS after having to format my drive. Ive set it all up as it was before, my video drivers are all the same as they were etc.

Running CS at 1024*768 all the text in the console and the net_graph appears fuzzy, or cracked, certainly not as crisp and clear as it used to be.

Any idea if there is a setting I may have missed. Sadly I didnt copy my configs before formatting so Ive had to start from scratch.

Ooooooh at last one I know, it's anti-aliasing and/or v sync, turn em off sweetheart.

Net_graph 3, but its hard to see, cos the text is all fuzzy

and Antialiasing etc are off.

Why dont you

Backup your Current Config then ask someone if you can "borrow" theirs an dtry NG3 then.

If its fuzzy its down to your Config, if not, its somethin to do with your System

I get this with HL but it seems to be only with Direct3D, OpenGL they text is normal.

In the interests of research I've just changed and messed about with my card settings(I get the fuzzy text problem after a format)and the thing that caused it on mine was the FSAA in the open gl settings, I have Smoothvision(tm) on in direct 3d and it affects nowt(I think Smoothvision is the same as FSAA).

My card is a Radeon 8500(fullly blown jobbie*), my pc is a P4 1.8, I have 256ddr ram and am on cable internet, I am so, so sure FSAA in open gl is your problem Willier, this has been a thorn in my side ever since I've played CS.

i agree with throddy on this one.... image quality is much better with vsync on for me, for higher fps increase refresh rate.

I bet you have a CTX monitor....

try upping yer refresh rate for the res you are using...(if everyone elses suggestions fails)

my CTX is a nightmare for fuzzy text...try the drivers for yer monitor etc...and let me tell you it was no cheap shite either...i'll never buy another CTX.

Anyway, Ive sorted it. I would say thanks for your help, but non of it was very helpfull.

Removed 21.3 dets, installed 29.4s.
Turned vsync and antiscropiuc aliasing thing OFF
Ran no problems. 75fps constant.
