It's bollocks.

These guys have been around for years always promising a revolution and using fancy terms like "point clouds" but never actually producing anything concrete. If you look at the video you'll see it's mostly just the same few elements repeated over and over - not even rotated for variety. There's no evidence of animation in the video either since that's nearly impossible to do efficiently with voxels.

The only games that have ever worked with Voxels are things like Outcast or Delta Force that used them for the ground but anything that actually moved was done with polygons.

Various people (including Notch of minecraft fame) cast doubt on this video when it was released a few months ago and nothing's ever come from Euclideon to explain themselves or answer the criticisms.

Digital Foundry debunking it

Yeah they have been called out loads of times. People have asked for proof and they vanish again.

It's a believe it when I see it (in real time) thing

That's like saying in 100 years we will be living on the moon, of course graphics will improve, that is evolution. Just that we are not there yet but it will happen at some point.

The Square Enix engine looks better

But I would imagine it would take many years, before we see a proper game from the technology.

The problem with those guys is that they think polygon counts make things pretty. As do many game devs these days. False presumption and makes for a much memory consuming title.

Did you watch the video? They aren't using polygons at all.

That's some serious effort they put in to trolling.
