That'll be because the Creative Annihilator Pro is a bunch of crap.
Take a look at http://www.sharkyextreme.com they did a comparison a little while ago. It's just a shame they didn't have the Guillimot 3D Prophet DDR there, I have both Guillimot Cards and there's hardly any difference between the SDR & DDR versions, unless you use 4X AGP (I'm currently testing the DDR version with an Intel VC820 board using 128MB RDIMM's)
In my opinion the Guillimot card is one of the best Ge-Force 256's, it's got TV out 2 and some cool nVidia demo's.
I agree... i mean, daveheart says he can get creative for 160... so why pay 40 quid more for tv out? He could always overclock it and then it'll be even faster still than the guillemot
U actually used a creative geforce m8? Ive used both creatives and guillemots at work. Nowt in em performance wise... u should know that if u have a PC shop...
imho, geforces are not entirly worth the money - im getting 74.4fps (tweaked) out of a celery 366 at 550, with everything on im gettin 39fps, not too bad, thats with a tnt2 ultra board - i personally dont think its worth me upgrading to geforce yet, not enough performance gain
Personally, the sort of gain i loook for before i upgrade is the sort of difference from going from a vooodoo 1 to voodoo 2 card
tnt2u>geforce isnt worth it
geforce is nearly 200, tnt2u you can pick up for under 100
not really worth it just yet - when prices come down a bit more then maybe a better bet
btw tug, 165 is still a bit OTT for trade price, i pick em up at 140 for the ddrs (mind you i usually get a deal for buying >20, is your price just a single order?)
I just brought mine for the sake of it.. dont need it really... dont even play games much!! But who gives a shite - i need to experience the best hardware for when ppl ask me for advice
heh otherwise not too bad
i just use bodger bits, build PCs out of the shit that my shop buys (pc chips, sis, trident, cyrix, all there u name it)
and think i know stuff
